Your Child's First Visit

At Souhegan Valley Dental, we understand the importance of your child’s oral health. We prioritize their comfort and well-being during their dental visit and recommend scheduling their first dental check-up by their first birthday. This early introduction to dental care sets the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health habits.

Preparing For The Visit

Before the appointment, it can be beneficial to inform your child about the visit in a positive and age-appropriate manner. We will provide a medical and dental health history form for you to fill out, ensuring we have a complete understanding of your child’s dental needs.

The Dental Visit

During their visit, our compassionate dental team will introduce your child to dental tools and instruments, making sure they feel comfortable and at ease. We encourage parents to accompany their child during the visit to help provide support and reassurance.

The dental visit will include:

  • Thorough head and neck examination
  • Evaluation of teeth and gums
  • Possible x-rays if necessary
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Fluoride treatment if no further treatment is required

Important things to remember:

  • Bring your child’s dental insurance card
  • Complete any initial paperwork required for their first visit
